BBNZ President Les Bouterey presented 29th Wellington Company Captain Mike Batten with a long service award at the Central Region 2006 Roadshow, 24 June 2006. The award is token recognition of Mike Batten's spectacular 52 years of service as an officer in the Boys' Brigade, which included the founding of the 29th 39 years ago (of which Mike was captain for all but one year).

Tribute was also paid to Lieutenant Mike Penhey, who has been involved in the 29th Wellington Company in some fashion for over 25 years.

The 29th Wellington Company salutes these two servants of Christ, and thanks them for their ongoing work and devotion to the company and the movement.
